The Company
Arts Laureate began as an audio recording service, providing concert and session recordings for groups such as the Virginia Chorale (Virginia's only professional choral ensemble), the University of Carolina - Chapel Hill's Wind Ensemble, University of Marlyand's PandemoniUM co-ed a cappella group, the William and Mary Early Music Ensemble, and a host of other solo artists and ensembles. The service was rebranded in 2010 to accomodate the growing number and nature of requests, including HD videography and photography. All our gear is portable (we come to you).
The Owner
The Philosophy
We maintain top-of-line gear, but our best assets are ears, experience, and a good attitude. We geniunely enjoy the process of recording and we strive to be valuable members of the creative and artistic community. The Methodology
With Arts Laureate, audio is never mixed down on the spot. We take the time to mix and polish the recording in ways that can't be done on site. Mixdown not only includes balance, compression, reverb, and other effects, but also the process of cutting the audio into a listenable CD (a.k.a. mastering). Different portions of your performance need to be mixed differently, and a "real-time" mixdown is always one-step behind the musical changes. Post-concert mixing allows us to modify the individual tracks in order to tailor your mix to your goals.Accessibility
Aren't ready for the national spotlight yet? That's alright, we try to accomodate requests for events like senior recitals and audition recordings as often as we are able.
